Reports/films from states of the former USSR
AFRRI makes these reports/films available to facilitate the critical review and analysis of the information developed by scientific and medical professionals in states of the former Soviet Union (USSR) as well as U.S. universities and government agencies. The collection and presentation of the data, including conclusions derived from the data, are entirely the work of the authors. Hence, the opinions expressed in these products are entirely those of the authors and do not represent those of the publishers, the United States Department of Defense, or the United States government.

These films, each with English voice-over and in National Television Standards Corporation (NTSC) format, are available to U.S. government agencies or universities for scientific purposes only and may not be sold or rented. Requests should be submitted on organization letterhead and should state awareness of the above stipulations and agreement to observe them. Requesters should provide an hour-long blank VHS or super VHS tape. Write to Publishing Division, Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute, 8901 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20889-5603.
  • Set of four films: Novaya Zemlya (northern Soviet nuclear test site); Totsk: Training for a Nuclear Bomb Drop (actual military maneuvers); Sightseeing in Nuclear Moscow; and Radiation Situation in the Chelyabinsk Region (radiation-contamination situations in Moscow and Chelyabinsk, Russia). Film DNA001-95-C-0158.
  • Twentieth Century Gold (a documentary of contamination of the Yenisey River in Russia). Film DNA001-93-C-0021.
  • Documentation of the Expedition to the Submerged Nuclear Submarine Komsomolets (the nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed Soviet vessel that sank in the Norwegian Sea in 1989). Film DNA001-94-C-0120.
  • Set of four films: At the Lake (contaminated sand use in Siberian villages); Komsomolets Update; Peacefully Exploded (contamination from underground explosions in peaceful uses of nuclear energy program); and Floating Chernobyl (decommissioned but undisposed of nuclear vessels and reactors). Film DSWA01-97-C-0001.
